What is CPD?

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. It refers to engaging in additional training beyond any initial training. it also involves the process of tracking and documenting the skills, knowledge and experience that you gain as you engage in this additional training. CPD is a commitment by members to continually update their skills and knowledge in order to remain professionally competent and achieve their true potential. Completing annual CPD is a prerequisite for membership of the CHPA. CPD promotes therapists taking personal responsibility for continuous improvement of practice. It also promotes the ethos of professional governance and lifelong learning. It is a critical obligation for any profession seeking regulation.
As a member of the CHPA , the therapist must participate in at least 14 hours of extra training per annum.
